CODEX + RED

Codex provides simple, unified workflows for the leading digital cinematography cameras, including RED. Most recently, Codex was used on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, directed by James Gunn and shot by Henry Braham BSC on 8K RED WEAPON DRAGONs. The 8K RED DRAGON sensor takes RED cameras to a whole new level.

Principal photography for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, began in February 2016, with Santa Monica-based production services provider SHED specifying an entire Codex-based workflow from on-set through to post production, visual effects pulls and archiving.

CODEX PRODUCTION SUITE

Codex simplifies workflows for many different cameras, including RED. Codex Production Suite is the ideal solution for productions of all sizes and budgets.

Now available on Codex XL-Series and Mac OS X (Mac Pro and MacBook Pro). For cloning and archiving RED material on-set, Codex Vault S-Series is a rugged device, designed to go anywhere. A RED ROCKET-X card can be fitted directly into the Codex XL-Series for real-time 4K playback and accelerated DRAGON processing.

With CDL-based colour grading, metadata tools, QC, audio sync and fast transcoding to a multitude of formats, Production Suite has everything you need to produce a full range of deliverables on-set or near-set. Archiving to LTO-6 tape or Codex Production Drives (for integration with Codex Media Vault Library) is simple and efficient, using the industry standard LTFS. Codex Live adds on-set CDL-based look management and syncs seamlessly with Production Suite.
